Editorial standards

Independence

Affiliate relationships never change a score, ranking, or verdict. Scoring is deterministic (see the methodology): the engine computes the score from the data, so a commission cannot move it. We do not accept payment to feature or raise a product.

Sourcing and verification

• Irradiance is credited only at a usable treatment distance (6 in or more); independent measurement is prized over manufacturer claims. A figure with no distance is not credited.
• FDA status is checked: a real 510(k) clearance is credited; "FDA registered/listed" marketing is flagged as not a clearance.
• Specs, prices, and any independent measurements are dated, and each scorecard shows a confidence label.

Health claims

We make no medical or disease claims. We score what a device measurably delivers and describe the literature in measured language. RecoveryScored is not medical advice.
